DIGNITY AFTER FOOTBALL

MISSION

Dignity After Football is the organization whose purpose is to help guide and resolve the problems found in the benefits, disabilities, and pension organization of the NFL.

OBJECTIVES

Currently, Congress and the government action agencies are requiring the NFL to comply with resolving the benefits and pensions program that has serious flaws in their process to support disabled and retired players.

DIGNITY AFTER FOOTBALL recognizes that, while we the former players get the attention even in suffering, it is YOU, our loving wives, children, parents, siblings, and friends, who are equally as affected. Our suffering may be causing YOU even more suffering but in different ways that may be strange and inexplicable to you. We at DAF realize how helpless and hopeless you feel at times, this page will be dedicated to bringing you relief too.

We hope to provide links to counseling, and to post letters to you from top medical professionals to help you cope with your loved one who is a disabled or under-pensioned NFL player, to help you cope with the sense of "loss",... of their health, personality, your finances, possessions, relationships,... there are so many issues involving families and friends that this is considered a vital link for DAF.

Pictured above, DAF Founding members Sharon Hawkins (left) and Gina Boyd, both of whom are wives of disabled former NFL players. Sharon and Gina will be writing much here and encouraging other wives and family members to write, participate in DAF, and heal yourselves. While we are shown dancing, we are sticking together to fight the real seriousness of the problems in the NFL and NFLPA.

AS DOES EVERYBODY, WE LOVE SUZIE HEYWOOD AND THANK HER FOR HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE OVERALL EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF ALL FORMER NFL PLAYERS

WE NEED YOUR PICS AND STORIES FOR THIS SECTION

FAMILIES SECTION, PLEASE SEND IN YOUR PICTURES!!!

Here is the biggest victim of the NFL's corruption in the Boyd case, Brent's son Anders Boyd....pictured in a triumphant moment, In an intercercerption as a nose guard, in overtime to win a state high school playoff game..but this kid has had thousands of unheralded moments of triumph over the NFL's corrupt neglect of his need in childhood. The commissioner, with all repect, and all the NFLPA, Groom Law, Lanny Davis ,and the others paid millions to spin this into a small problem,...

None of these grown men, NFL/NFLPA execs and their armies of lawyers, have HALF the hueovos of Anders Boyd, Garrett Webster, and God knows how many other kids of NFL players screwed by the disability board. OR their wives!!!

an update, Anders could have given up and joined so many other kids his age and joined gangs, done drugs...no thanks to the NFL, but thanks to his own character and love from his family, Anders Boyd is drug free, a 19 year old firefighter in training, and is in need of funds for the fire- fighting academy tuition (APPROX $5000 to start, plus classes afterwards)

this WOULD be covered by the rightful full NFL disabiltiy benefits,, but now we once again have to beg and pass the hat..
